She prefers hunting, not jewelry
Rebecca Hamilton got a ring for her 13th birthday in August, but it sat on her dresser for a couple of weeks. Her mother, Marge, knew something wasn't right.
"I finally told her that if she didn't really want the ring, we'd take it back and get something she would use," Marge Hamilton said.
That something turned out to be arrows for the new bow Rebecca's father, Rocky, bought her in anticipation of her first deer hunting season. Now the eighth-grader at Patrick Henry Middle School in Woodhaven can boast that some of the venison in the family freezer was put there by her.
