My wife has been on me for a few years to start an outdoor focused club at the local public schools. Is there a template somewhere of a successful program that could provide a framework to start?

I would check with the DNR or a local nature center. They might be able to provide some info in regards to kid's programs.
That's a great thing to do.....Check with M.U.C.C. Too.
Great Luck,

I would be very interested in that too. My biggest hurdle so far has been all the cenment surrounding us!!! We have no funds and no busses to take us anywhere. I work at a high school and would love to do something with them this winter. I may even sponsor a snowshoe outing if we get enough snow and volunteer drivers!

I've done some searching and 4-H offers some outdoors clubs. Maybe contacting someone within your local chapter would be able to give you some sort of frame work to assist a school club.
MSU extension program kept popping up on my search. I would think they would have some programs or suggestions to get something like this going.
I'm still searching, lol......

I would hit the 4-H and extension offices quick, it apears their heads are the next to roll in the budget cuts.
