Yea I know:( but it's awesome at the moment,,everything is organized and put away,,and I can walk around in it,,and oh yea no hot jobs on books!,,,I hope to keep it neat and clean all winter!! of course when spring hits it will be another story..
It's funny but no ones boat or motor is broke at the moment and I am sure no ones boat or motor will be broke all winter,,,but I bet the first nice spring day 20 or 25 will suddenly need repair!!!
I don't know what it is but the first nice spring day seems to be h@!! on outboards!

Empty garage! That's not good. Maybe I can help. I can bring my boat over and you can put it in your garage untill say the last of March.

Tonga, I still have that '53 Evinrude that would look good in your garage. A little TLC and you could have a nice running machine.
The price is going down too.

Tonga,
I've got electrical problems with my motor... I've seen where I think the problem is (The wiring on my trim motor) and it's causing my gages to read all kinds of funky numbers... Gas gage don't work, RPM gage works part-time with some crazy numbers around 8 grand when at idle but the volt meter seems ok. What I can see is a real bad fraying of the harness leading from the trim motor to inside the motor itself with bare wires exposed. Let me know what you think...

Nice post IFN:cool:
Hey Tonga....You ever rebuild the carbs on that merc?? How big a pain is it?? Figure I have the gargage tore up after doing that 3.5L might as well do my 50hp......Don't see any ice in the future.....
TONGA

If you are good whith carbs I'd say go for it! if she has a decent idle,,then you should lightly seat the needles counting the turns it takes to seat them,,,this will give you a good starting point for tuning later,,getting them back in sync can be a bit trying if you have never done it before, but as far as the carbs go they are not hard to do ,,

$800! I think he just wants to get what he paid for it,,,you know what he paid in 1958!!,,,,I wounder if it is one of the fancy ones with the gold script,,,you know real gold
Well thanks for the hot tip ESOX but I am going to have to pass..
Gsepan you said it was a small world,,,to this I would say yes,but I would not want to paint it!!!
TONGA
12-04-2003, 09:04 PM
no ,I got it now,,ESOX you should buy the old OMC ,,then you can pick up the GW Invader I found a while back,,,you know the one for $3500,,,boat only,,, it only needs new floor, floatation, interior, paint and re-rigging!!
then you will have ultimate in over priced fun!!
I can check and see if it's still for sale,,,you just might get lucky!!
I would still like to find an Invader. Those things are too cool. Besides, if the water drops any further, that will be about all that will float out there.

I hear ya ,,,cool little boats ,down the canal from where I keep my boat,,there is 2 Invaders in a boat house,,a white one and a yellow one,,pretty sweet looking boats but I never see them out of the boat house,,,,just thinking if I had a pair of invaders I would have to set up a race course for me and my buddys,,,it would be fun running in the north channel on a week day eve!

i am going to bring down that boat from hubbard lake that i bought last summer. needs a motor and some wiring done. that should keep you busy for awhile. we had talked in the past i am IFN's buddy. that 50 hp merc would work just fine. it's a 16 ft tri hull. we have talked on the phone and mike has told you about it.it needs some work but i think it will be a good fishin boat.
