Does anyone know where I can get my boat recarpeted? Or howmuch that costs. I have a 17ft bass boat that is only a few years old but the guy I bought it from had a problem with spilling stuff on it and has it all stained. So I was thinking of maybe getting it recarpeted like I said before next year. Any infor would be helpfull.

I did a smokercraft and it had i/o carpet. I went with the vinyl stuff out of cabela's and I am glad I made the switch. Sold the boat and now my Lund will require the same re-do as well. The blue carpet is all stained so that will be next springs job.

Thanks for the replies. ANother question though how do you go about getting the old carpet up do you have to use a heat gun or somethign to that effect or just pull your a@3 OFF! Also like for the flooring and deck when you cut the carpet how do you get it so it dosn't fray on you? Or does this kind of carpet not fray?

pull it up,,then use a paint scraper on the blothcy spots to clean and smooth out the floor,,,as for cutting the carpet I have always had good luck with a nice sharp utility knife

I put in a total new floor in my 17' Sportcraft this past summer. Old flooring was shot, pulled/scraped the old carpet up then out withthe old floor, new floor went in very well. Used 3/4" treated throughout and then applied the best grade marine carpet purchased at Lowes. Lowes offers several colors along with several grades. I think I paid about $50.00 for the best grade. Good backing, no fraying from trimming, used adhesive sparingly when installing, edges were no problem with the trim boards holding them down tight.

Good luck. Great project to do yourself :D

I did not know Lowes sold marine carpet,,so what kind of color selection do they have?

Not too great a selection as I recall. A couple of different shades of Blue, one was even a two-tone style, (I went with the "medium" darker Bue, coordinated well with my seats:D ), couple shades of gray (kind of like a "Battleship" gray) and a Black color I believe.

Was suprised that they carried it too, I began making calls around to find the carpet and tried them at a whim, beauty !

Comes in 96" wide rolls, pay by the linear foot I think.

Good luck.
