Wow! What a day on the lake. Got out at 8ish and it was flat as a pancake. Jeffk was on board and we met up with Joe_G and IFN. Anchored and couldn't get the bite going so we move next to Joe in his new boat (Nice ride Joe!) because they were picking up a few fish. It was slow and Joe decided to make a move and a cruise to metro. We'll, as soon as they left... The bite was on!!! Lots of doubles and nonstop action. Excellent trip!!! Stopped a noon and ended the day with a 3/4 full 5 gallon bucket. 86 fish total and they were still biting when we left. Another 1/2 hour and we would have limited. I sure hope we get a few more weekends like that before ice-up. Wooooo-Hooooo!!!!:D :D :D

Good job Greg and Jeff! Two weekends ago I was struggling on the Canadian side and actually came over to your stomping grounds (Anchor Bay) to try to find some fish. We picked away at a few fish out in front of Schimts (sp) Marina. Nothing great but did manage to add some fish to the bucket. Water temps are dropping but hopefully we still have a few trips left before that dreaded ice comes! :)

Nope not yet but I was a little concerned Sunday moring when I read 18 degrees on the thermometer. I read surface water temps in the middle of the lake around 46 or so. My canal is shallow with little current so I'll have to watch that closely. It's always a sad day when the decision is made to pull the rig. :(

I broke some ice on the way out Sunday. Just skim ice but with the water being so low, It won't be long...

Thanks for the Kudo's John, look forward to seeing you out behind Joe's for the first ice bluegill and crappie action.

Sunday morning, I had to break through 3/8 of a mile of 1/4 inch ice to get to the lake.
After I made the move from Fairhaven, went down to 12 mile, which was hot 2 weeks ago, and didn't do to well. Made moves all the way up to Huron Pointe, without much action along that whole stretch. I remember Gsepan saying "Don't leave fish to find fish". Where have I heard that before?

I fished all over the lake on Sunday and never had a perch bite the entire time. St Clair light-GPYC-Metro Not one bite!
Maybe it because it was flat out. I have done better in chop and I caught good fish Wednesday at GPYC. Out deep and in close.

IT pimp, on rare occasions I have caught decent fish under those conditions but for the most part it is the kiss of death for Perch fishing. I know an old timer that has been fishing the U.S. side of the pond for 70+ years. I heard he caught 3 fish on Sunday so I don't think it was anything you were doing wrong. The fish were just shut down in that area.

Fish are there, I dont think they all went into the cuts, I agree that they were with lockjaw. With hunting next weekend that only leaves one more weekend before I park the boat for the season at Thanksgiving. Then it's come on safe ice!
