Looks like it is going to be a cold one out there tomorrow but it's the only day this weekend I can get out. Just wondering if I'll have any company out there tomorrow. Right now I plan to head across to Canada for Perch. "In Cahoots" on channel 68. Give me a call if you're out!

Cool Mike, I hope you guys get into the fish! I hope my fingers stay nimble enough to get bait on my hooks in those 30 degree temps! :p I can handle temps in the 40's but below that, my fingers quit working estecially if the wind is blowing. Maybe I'll get a chance to use my new Mr. Heater. Good luck! :)

What is the Mister Heater?.......I'm gonna need one of those. Decided not to pull the boat 'til the water temp hits 36 degrees.

I hope to be out somewhere between metro beach and 9 mile tower in 12-16 fow Sunday afternoon looking for the perchies. Blue/white crestliner. I will probably be by myself, dont have a heater but my ice fishing clothing will work nicely.

Ice fishing nut, never heard of using a portable heater on boat. That is a new one for me. You could cook your perch as you catch them. :D

It was a great day on Gone fishing's boat today:D beautifull weather and a few perch that wanted to jump into our cooler.

We fished the Canadian side and got a steady bite when we first got out. As soon as the chop died the perch bite slowed.

John knows the lake and everyone Crazy enough to be in Canada waters this time of year.

All in all Fishing with John Was a Blast! The Perch Fishing was great and the weather was beautifull!! We ended up with a 7 gallon pail full. I think the Total went John-6 gallons Ed-1 gallon.

Boy are you full of it Ed. I often have read about you catching your fish using slip bobbers. Well, let me just say this guy is the master of that method. After watching Ed pull a few nice fish I decided to give my slip bobber set-up a try. Set the depth the same as Ed with my chemically sharpened hook and a bobber of the same size as Ed. After watching Ed pull a few more nice fish I was convinced he was throwing out to a weed bed that was holding fish. Tried casting mine out next to his but every time a bobber went down, it was his! Finally had to go back to my Perch rig to put any fish in the bucket.
The action in the morning was fairly steady till the wind laid down and the lake went flat. Much of the Canadian waters were pretty muddy so many of the spots I wanted to try were pretty much un-fishable. Anyway, we picked away at them and ended up with a nice bucket of tasty Perch. It was a beautiful day with great company! Thanks for coming along Ed, I had a great time! Good luck on your quest for venison this upcoming weekend! :)

Good job on the fish John and Ed. I thought about going but I had 20 bags of leaves calling my name. Next opportunity is Friday and they are calling for GALE force winds on Thursday. The old saying is true, "If I didn't have bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck."

I heard Wally from Charter 1 (Canadian charter captain) on the radio Sunday say he caught a beautiful 52 incher. Also heard some other guys saying they were taking a few fish. I’m pretty sure they were fishing by the mouth of the Detroit River. Also heard some fish being taken by the mouth of the Thames. Not sure what depths but I’d bet you will see other boats in the area. The blow we are supposed to have Thursday may tear up the lake pretty good. That may dictate what areas would be fishable on Friday/Sarurday. Good luck if you get out!
