With the holiday season already here I have been scrambling to find the perfect gifts for people on my list. I ran into a problem when trying to find something for my girlfriends' dad. He is an avid deer hunter and fisherman. He has a up comming elk trip to Montana next fall. By the way, this guy has Cablea's on speed dial. His basement looks like Bass Pro Shop! Thanks for any help.

In a pinch, I find that a gift certificate to their favorite sporting goods store is always appreciated.

I really like my Gerber Gator folding knife. It is about $30. Another idea is the a folding saw from Gerber (I'm not a Gerber rep, I just think they make quality stuff), it comes with two blades. I like this also. It is about $25.

Merry Christmas!

LOL! That sounds like a great gift. God knows he could use one of those! However I'm kinda worried about his new .44 we shot the other day. He kept saying something about it being the most powerful gun on earth and it will blow your head clean off your shoulders???!!!

I'd go with the vortec head mounted flashlight we just reviewed. Don't know how I ever lived without one.

While I do not own a Vortec brand "headlight" I would recommend one for sure. I use mine for hunting, fishing, grilling in the dark....... It sure is nice having both hands to use.... Good luck!

I was shooting wobblers today and saw a nifty green and brown Eddie Bauer shell holder. I don't know if it is necessary beyond the pockets of your vest but it looked pretty cool. The guy who was wearing it sort of admitted it was the type of present you buy the "sportsman with everything".
I might get my brother one.

Reading my post, I realized it was pretty unclear. It is a leather pouch that attaches sort of low off teh belt, for quickly grabbing shells when shooting clays.
