WTB: Short shaft outboard motor

Some of you already know about the demise of my boat/motor so I won't go into it here, but I am now in need of an outboard motor since I am getting the boat fixed.

I had a short shaft 18hp Evinrude and would like to get something comparable but am willing to check anything else out there. I NEED to get this outboard soon to salvage some of my duck season.

have a 1999 johnson 9.9hp , 2 stroke, short shaft. less than 10 hrs. bought it as a backup . no longer need it. had 18hp evinrudes, 1963 models. gas guzzlers glad i got rid off them. this 9.9 will almost push as much as those 18's. asking 1100.00 or best. b.b.

Thanks for the post Bill. I'll keep you in mind, but that is a little more than I want to spend on that small of a motor. I'll need to think about it.
