I hope it's just not here yet but after scouting out my place yesterday failed to come up with any rubs or scrapes yet? Are we just a bit late? Last year already had a couple scrapes open now. Just maybe late this year?
One thing is I only have three deer( doe 2 fawns) on my place this year. Maybe not enough does to grab a buck attention?? Going to be a strange year I think.........marty:D

marty,
we are further north then you are (15 or 20 miles) maybe that is why they have started pre rut up here. just kidding. looks like everthing is turning this week. most of my customers are just now starting to see scrapes that are open and getting worked. i usually don't get really pumped until nov. 1. granted we are only talking 1 day, but that is my go day. if i could i would have from the 6th of november to the 14th off every year to deer hunt. a good deer hunter who took those days off every year i belive would get a buck no problem.
i hope your better half is feeling ok. tell her she is in our prayers.
marty, ed - haven't had any 'action' on the farm either - my cousin has a stand out there and reports sightings but not rut activity as of yet -

I had two cameras out since the 3 of oct haven't got any pics of bucks except for a small spiker. Since the early doe all I can see if three deer a doe with fawns. Still got a gaggle of turkeys here here. They enjoy the food plots very much:mad: .
Wife is doing better but another round of chemo next week. Yesterday was our 19th anniversary. Took her to rosa's in ossinke. Nice place but blew my diet to hale:D ........marty:D

jimmyboy,
Not yet. If you shine your spot light in the right fields or have access to private land there are plenty of deer left in Alcona county. However if you hunt state land like we do, they are almost extinct. I managed to see 10 in the middle of October. They must have gotten lost returning from the fields.;)

Marty,
I was up in Alpena last weekend (10/25-10/27). I saw a few doe and a spike on a daily basis. A buck had made a HUGE scrape not 20 yards from my tree, and not 10 yards away from where I had made a mock-scrape. He hit the scrape again real hard Sunday night/Monday morning before it got light. I am going up for 9 days to hunt between November 8th - 16th. It seems like the rut should really be kicking in about that time again this year. <----<<<
