Painting my alum. prop and wondering what kind of paint I should use. Rustoleum? or do I need something specific for aluminum?

Nomad,
If you just want to touch up the prop, I would imagine you can use just about any good brand of paint.
I know when I painted the bottom of my 21 ft Starcraft I was told to use Zinc Chromate as a primer, something about the chemicals in the primer that act as a bonding agent for the paint.
You didn't say what size motor this prop is for, but I would think if it's a large hp motor, the paint might just wear off without primer, something about the friction on the prop caused by the water.

definately prime with Zinc. The props action from cavitation and other forces will wear down the paint. :)

Because of aluminums high rate of corrosion you will want to get an etching type primer on the surface within an hour of sanding. There are different grades and alloys so YMMV. Best rule of thumb is to re-coat any bare alum. within one hour of sanding/scuffing.

Tempo Zinc Chromate Primer (Green) available in a spray can! about $12 a can,,,I know that sounds pricey for just your prop but you probably want to touch up your skeg anyway!
