I've been checking my canal off St Johns marsh a couple times a week, nothing big yet. Been picking up a few small gil's with worms, a few small crappies with minnows.....

Hey Joe, my son was asking me last night if we could come by this winter and fish your canal. I've only tried my canal once and it was dead but maybe I'll give it another try this year. I wish this darn weather would cooperate so I could get my fish while the water is soft but I have a ways to go. :p

Gone Fishing, you're always welcome to access the canal from my place........No need to call or ask, just stop in. Best time for Crappies is first ice. I'll tie a rope to myself and the boat dock and be out there when it's about 2 inches thick:D

Thanks Joe, we might just take you up on that although I think I'll skip the part about tying myself off to the dock. ;)

OK Ed, my knees are getting weak.:p I know quite a few guys that go there and I just might give it a try this year. Last year, every trip they had a 14 + inch fish from that area. Yea, I hate ice fishing but that kind of quality might just draw me out there. :)
