Looking for hunting lease for 2004! This lease would be for 2 very responsible guys: Me and my brother-in-law. :)
Ideally we would like a September-through-December lease, but if we have to, we would lease the full year. We would want exclusive hunting rights during the lease period. We have begun searching through lease agents, but I thought I would give this forum a try. Here is some of our likely criteria:

Preferably some hills and hardwoods
Within about 1-1.5 hours from I-75 and M-59
Preferably bordering non-residential and non-industrial properties
Deer!

Thanks in advance for any responses. Feel free to pm or email me.

p.s. character references available upon request.

I may know of one that fits your description in Huron county. How many acres acres you looking for?

It's sure nice to see that you're planning ahead, I just smile when I see hunters looking for a spot just prior to the season.

Wild Bill, I am pretty sure Fowlerville is not be too far.
How far of a drive is that from M23, if you happen to know off-hand?

Luv2hunteup: the answer to that is depends on the type of land. It is basically just me and my BIL, though his 12yr old son would come occasionally. We do not even always hunt the same days. We are bowhunting on 17 acres right now, but the surrounding area is rapidly turning residential, which makes it less viable.
So, 20-30 could possibly work if it is the right land: hilly, treed, with adjoining property that involves similar or non-commercial/non-residential use. But we are probably looking more toward 30-60. Again, it depends on the particular property. The guide is, can two guys comfortably hunt it?

Thanks for reading this thread and keeping your eyes open guys. We will run down any leads we get from you.

1) we have not secured anything yet, so please let me know if you have property or a contact who does.
2) we are amenable to following reasonable deer-age or antler restriction rules as a part of a lease agreement.

Thanks for your consideration,
Kevin

I'm also interested in leasing some land within an Hour from Dexter. I'm only one hunter and would split a lease with some one else who is as serious a hunter as me and safety comes first. I'm open on cost and where it is and fowlerville would be great. My e-mail address is ballegra@aol.com
