Have a question for you. I am thinking about trading my 13' boston Whaler and trailer without the motor for a river fishing boat. I just haven't found time to work on it. All I would need is just the boat and trailer. My question is which is better in the river a V bottom or a Flatbottom. I would be jigging out of it mostly. Which would be easiest for boat control?

Skeeter....there are some variables here that will factor in your decision. I have a flat bottom that I use on the Muskegon where there are shallow stretches and gravel bars. If you're fishing this type of river I'd go with the flat bottom. If you're in a river that has depth to it I would go with a v-bottom. A flat bottom is harder to control because it doesn't draft much water. Without more boat in the water, the wind will push the flat bottom around more than a v-bottom that has more draft.
That's my .02 cents.
