An old metal tackle box was left on the seat of my grandfather's boat. It left some pretty bad rust stains. Any suggestions as to how I can remove them? I tried a little bleach with minimal results.

Boaters world has a product called roll off. If it won't take the stains out nothing will

The first thing I would try would be CLR.

Note - NEVER use Bleach on your vinyl. It somehow breaks down the material after its exposed to UV(Sun). May not notice it right away. Any boat store will carry what you need.(Theres a soap, gel, paste, wax, solution, ... for EVERYTHING you can imagine on a boat). I always reccomend West Marine, cause you can take back cleaning products if they dont work for you, and some of them arent cheap.

theres a product called ospho or pospho. It is phosfuric acid. It removes rust stains. It's green liquid. Only thing that will get rid of running rust.
