A friend of mine recently bought a 39' Sea Ray, with the vinyl top. The top is decent shape, except the previous used bleach to clean from time to time. The top is now stained, but the biggest problem is it leaks.

My question is this, is there a product out there that will restore the waterproof abilities of this top. He is thinking of havng it redyed, and they trying to make it waterproof again. Any suggestions?

Hey Toto,
Any good marine supply store should have vinyl waterproofing spray. I usually touch up my cockpit covers which are a sunbrella breathable material once a year. Water will bead right off. I use Star-brite or 3 M. Should work for your friends application.

Where and how much does it cost to get a top/mooring covered re-dyed?

Just curious.
