Au Sable 3/12/01

I fished the au sable for the first time from a boat!! We launch from the whirlpool soon as we got down stream a little ways i spotted two steelies. Oh man i am liking this boat thing already!! Fished a couple of holes nothing. We then headed up stream all the way to the damn. It took for ever, and i only saw a few steelies, about 20 or so. I was watching every run like a hawk too. On are way up to the damn we stopped at the ???? where in a 45 minute spand i went 2-4 darker buck and the freshest hen i've got so far this year. Fished from 11am to dark. TIGHTLINES!!!!

Sounds like the AuSable must be running pretty clear.

i was at the dam and only seen three guys no luck on fish from any of them i did see one on the bend the water is some what clear and very low a few more weeks before any good action will start
