My dad bought a couple of used jet skis this summer and is looking for some information on how to winterize them. Can anyone out there give me a process to follow? Thanks

There are probably differences between manufacturers. Mine are Wet-Jets, made by Mastercraft Boat Company. Other than the obvious battery and several places to lube, the big thing is to get the water out of the engine. I paid the dealer once, and after finding out how little they did, I now do it myself. All I do to remove the water is to raise the trailer tongue onto the pickup tailgate and start the motor. About ten “blips” of the throttle and the water stops running out of the rear. That’s it!! Dealer says not to worry about running it when the machine is out of the water. (At least for this short time) Keep in mind, your machine may be quite different. I’d check the manual. May be able to get info on line if you don’t have one. This has worked for mine, for seven years now.

Take care of the battery, and lube all friction points. I have already added Sta-Bil to the gas, and run it a few minutes the last time we used them. I do not fog the carb. Never have, and have not had a problem.

Dont run the motor any longer than hot to the touch( about 15 seconds) I would fog the carb, and replace the plugs after you start and clear out the fog in the spring. Make sure no water is in the engine area. Stabil is a must !
