Does anyone have any recommendations on a place to purchase an electric anchor winch. To be used for heavy chain anchor for river fishing,,,, muskegon, etc.

thanks

Bass Pro and Cabellas both have them.

The Cabela's/Bass Pro models (Minn Kota's) probably won't be strong enough. How big is your boat? River Larry makes a setup, but it's expensive. I think Van's in Grand Rapids sells them.

Do a search on "River Larry", I posted his number before. I'd go through him and stay away from River Master. I've heard nothing good about River Master's service after the sale. Of course either of these 2 winches will cost you around 1k, so if your not up for swallowing that pill, I would rather do without then going with anything Minnkota or Powerwinch makes since neither handle enough weight or are fast enough.

Thanks for the info. It's for a 1860 sea arc. I found one at camp & cruise in GR for about 1K installed. Was hoping to find something more reasonable. But it looks like that's the going rate. May have to bite the bullet now or save till spring...

If Camp and Cruise had it, it is one of Larry's. Unethical as it might be, I'd call him and say you want to buy one from him at a couple hundred less then C&C. An ethical business man would not do it for you, but once you see Larry you'll know that your not dealing with one :)

Also, opt for the 24v model.
