Another Michigan Dove Bill Action Alert!!!

As you know, the Michigan Dove Bill (HB 6147) comes up in the appropriate
Senate Committee this afternoon. It has already passed the House. We are
getting down to the finishline here.
The Detroit News is airing a poll via its web site concerning the opinions
of citizens on including Mourning Doves on the list of game birds. We are
currently losing. We need just a minute of your time to log on and cast
your opinion vote. This opinion survey is being monitored by many Senators
in Lansing, so please pass this message along and make your voice heard
immediately.
* Go to http://www.detnews.com
* Click on Metro/State in the left-hand column
* Click on the YES button under the "Hunt Doves?" opinion poll in the
left-hand column.
It's that simple. Thanks so much for your time. And if you have not
contacted your Senator yet, please do so immediately!!! Ask them to support
HB 6147. This bill may be on the floor as early as tomorrow (Friday 12/1).
Please act now!!!

This poll is slanted very badly against hunters right now. Legislators are looking at this poll. I know this site can do something about changing this. I want to see the Yes column go up significantly because of this site.

It's getting a bit better...now it's 70% against, but this is unthinkable. C'mon everyone, the anti's are out-voting the hunters and if that remains the status quo, you will NOT get the dove season. Jump out on the link and VOTE!!!!

Dont you just love how they worded the poll?
They made it sound as if Doves are an endangered species.
If they were any kind of real news paper (instead of just another liberal rag) they would have noted that Doves are a Game Bird species that have been protected in Michigan but are not in any way endangerd.

35% yes, 64% no. We are making progress.

Did anyone else notice that 88% thought that the Florida legislature should appoint electors for Bush. That surprises me since Gore heavily carried Detroit.

40% in favor of a dove hunt on a liberal poll with a biased question is a STRONG voice by hunters. I hope we can at least increase it by another 10%, but I never dreamed we would climb to 40%. It has nothing to do with dove hunting, it has everything to do with all hunters standing together, setting aside our internal differences, and letting the non-hunting public see that we are a VOTING force!!! Determined to preserve our heritage and rights.

I was just reading some of the letters on the voting site and I came across this one. What a way to hurt the hunters..I can't believe this guy actually posted this letter. He obviously doesn't see the whole picture!!

Comments: I am a hunter and a life NRA member, but I would never hunt mourning doves because they are too small to eat and/or not considered a "nuisance" species. Therefore, to shoot doves for target practice alone is killing for killing's sake, and is unethical in my mind.

I voted with the Minority which is a YES vote. Read Neil Munro's Editorial in the Oakland Press, what a bimbo. He stated we as hunters would be shooting them off the power lines.
