My new boat has arrived and they are going to make a custom cover for it. There is only one problem. They want to make the cover a snap on version and that sounds good to me...But the snaps will show on the inside of the hull in the bow area. Does anyone know if there is a cover that can be placed over the head of these where they protrude through the carpet on the inside of an aluminum boat?

I think I'll go back down and talk to them first thing Monday morning. Hopefully they will not have drilled any holes at that time.

Any information on this subject would be a great help.

Thanks

I cant say for sure, but if you have doubts, tell them to hold up, and go look at how other hulls like yours are setup to get some ideas. You dont want to regret it later.

Thanks for the reply. I got so worried about it that I drove back to the dealership this morning and had a long talk with them about it. They were really great and understanding about my concern. As it turns out Lund installs a snap rail below the rub rail on most of their new boats. The dealer had not used it much before and wasn't real excited about using it this time. They feel you get a better fit by having the snaps lower on the side of the boat. But when I told them of my concerns about having grand children in the front of the boat and that I was worried about one of them being cut buy the rivit head they were more than willing to make the cover using the existing snap rail. They did have to call lund and order special backers that fit in the rail but it shouldn't hold up delivery of the boat more than a day or two.

Nice dealing with people who are willing to go the extra mile to make a customer happy. BTW I am buying this boat from High's Marine in Decatur MI. Nice folks down there, stop by and see 'em sometime.
