Does anyone know of any online topo map sites. I'm interested in looking at a few maps to scount for the upcoming bow season. I went out in the woods a few days ago and the mosquitoes are horrible. Thanks and good luck this year!

www.Topozone.com is one I like you can view the maps and then order a paper copy.

Try www.mytopo.com, you can also order aerial photos through this site. It's nice because it automatically connects the different frames of pictures to give you a big area if needed. I ordered some for the place I hunt and they are nice.

Hi,
The Michigan DNR web site has Michigan Topo maps in PDF format. You can use Adobe Acrobat Reader to print them.
From their main page, go to publications and maps, then on-line maps, then page down to the Topographic Quadrangles.
Take care,
Mike

Give terraserver a try. They have both aerials and topos for most areas of the country. You can print them free.

On the DNR sight I cant find a legend for the map. Is the green shaded part state land?

No, the green on a topo means mostly wooded. The boundaries for all state land are not on topos.

I print out my topos from terraserver. You can get ariels too (black and white ). Then I use clear packing tape to laminate them. I know Im cheap! ;)
From here you can take them to the local DNR office (call first) and they will help you out where boundries are on public land. Its nice when someone tells you you are on private land you can them pullout the topo map and say well according to the DNR.......... ;) The public land I hunt the locals try all kinds of tricks.
