I take it you have done a reboot, and have actually shut it down, waited a few and booted back up? Same condition?
What else is running at the same time? Anything? Spyware programs? Sometimes they can logjam your system.
Need more info on your PC, and what your operating system is?
Your PC isn't as old as your motors is it?
Sometimes the conflict is just as simple as a cold reboot.

Tonga,
In my opinion, the first thing you need to do is get rid of '98. It is one of the most unstable operating systems ever made. If possible, you should upgrade to at least Windows 2000. A PII 350 should handle Windows 2000 but I would suggest having at least 256 MB of RAM. If you want to do it right, upgrade your processor and RAM and install Windows XP with all the service packs.
If I've rambled on way too much and got you really confused, then just do this. Give your daughter your current computer and buy yourself a new one. :D

thanks to all ,,,I think I will give IFN a shot at her before I get a new system! but I could use a new PC,,so what is the best way to go 1 go out and buy one? or 2 have one built?

If your the kind that needs lots of tech support, buy one, Get a Dell, and use their support, spend your time fixing motors instead of PC's.
If the technical stuff isn't a bother, build it or have it built and go for speed. Costs more to build one, but you are getting what you want, precisely what you want.
My opinion, of course...

Yep I agree, the computers I build are usually a little more than I could have bought one off of the shelf for, but mine are faster, more and better memory, better components, and are built to do exactly what I want them to do. Unless you are tech savvy but a dell and the service plan, you'll love it and right now you can get great deals! Good Luck, Eric

Every once in a while, one or more of the cache files in WINDOWS98 cache folder gets corrupted. It's a good idea to periodically clear the cache directory (delete all the files contained therein).
Open the following link, then just substitute the word Netscape with the word Windows.....I have an old PC for Dummies book that I bought just after getting my 1997 HP system, and it covers older systems pretty well. Your welcome to stop by & borrow it whenever your passing by......

What was your errror message saying?? I am getting one that says "lexplore has caused an error in MSHTML.DLL and will now close" This has been going on for the last 2 weeks, often happens right after startup. I wonder if it is the same thing...

When you get an error message that references a particular file, try going to the microsoft web site and do a search on it. For example, here is a link for salmonslammer's problem:
