My daughter took her hunter safety test tonight and PASSED!!:D Needless to say, I am quite proud of her. I would just like to say to the instructors (Dennis, Doug, and Brian) thanks again for your patience and understanding; you guys are great, and a big part of the future of our heritage. Thanks again!:D

Where did she take it at?

Rob;
She took the course at the Double Action range and gunshot in Madison Heights.
Kirk;
I already have one of those:D Maybe if she is nice to the old man, I might let her have it (some day;) )
Seriously, I bought her a 20 gauge single shot this past summer...a Rossi youth model. The stock proportions fit her well, but she is still having some problems with recoil and her bony, 80lb frame. I am planning on doing some reloading with some lighter 20 gauge loads and maybe putting some more weight in the stock.

Congratulations to your daughter! Sounds like you and I are in the same boat, this will be the first fall that one of my children will be old enough to hunt with me. It's going to be great!

Mr. 16 gauge,
Congratulations to you and your daughter, you deserve to be proud. Have you looked into one of the Sims research recoil pads for her gun? I haven't personally used one, but have read many good reviews re: them. It is the same people that make the vibration reduction devices for bows. I am planning on trying them out on my .450 and my Rem 870 slug gun. I'm well past the age where I think pain = macho and look for comfort from the bench. Maybe someone here has used them and can give us a review.
