Very few reports in lately. What I have heard is that the salmon in this area are out deep...95'+. The perch have slowed to a crawl as the salmon start to pick up. Hope they are cooperative for the outing.
I just posted info on the harbor in the Outdoor News forum for those of you interested in the future of our marina here in Lexington.

Keep your tip up and your bait wet! Good Luck!!
Mike

Well who knows what you can believe Jeremy, but word has it that the big kings are showing up in the catches in some pretty good numbers. I am usually reluctant to give people the wrong idea, and will always tell you only what I can believe myself. We all know that its called fishing....not catching....for good reason! Good luck!

Just got back from Port Sanilac. Big, Big waves and I mean big. Lasted about two hours and called it quits. Nothing, marking fish but could not get them on the hook. Still a good day, no work and got out on the boat. :) :)

Fishing in 60, marking them in 25 -35 feet. Sorry for the slow response. Was on LSC this morning. Much calmer and more productive than Friday.

Looks like I will have to put my trip off til next weekend. This week looks like it will be quite rough anyway. Hope it calms down before next week. Thanks for the info. Maybe the fish will move in closer now, water should be starting to cool. Next cool rain may start it.

Update
Gone Fishin (Larry) was in Sat. with a report as he stood at the counter weaving back and forth from an obviously bumpy ride on Lake Huron....95'-105' straight out of Lexington he went 1 for 2.
The lake was rough and the fish were not hungry by the time he got to them around 10am. Hope he did better last night! Thanks for the report Larry!
Today looks alot nicer on the lake. I will post before next weekend with an update on the lake and fish!
Keep your tip up and your bait wet! Good luck!

I was on on the water for 10 hours yesterday, yeah Mike I must of seemed like a druken sailer, after 10 hours on sea of mountains and very little sleep in the last two nights my equilibrium was just a little off.anyways went 1 for 2 took a 12# king with lots of color(was surprized to how dark she was.)that fish came on a black screwball on the slider with with the main line set at 50.I took the fish at 6:45 in 55fow.out by the humps.around 10 moved to deep water fished 95 to 105 had lots fish on grapth, had one rip out out there on munkey puke, with a double glow ladder back down 85.I fished solo when I first got there I was glad my boys stayed home,I would have turned around and went with them.the last 5 hours I wished they came, cause I would have been home already! the long and short of I fished in seas I shoud not of.still nice to get out and have some quittime.I was impressed at how many fish I marked there.nice store Mike will try to stop by and say hey whenever I fish Lexington

The fishing near shore usually starts picking up the first week of Sept. , with the peak for salmon near the first weekend of Oct. The salmon stage just outside the harbor walls, and steelhead and browns are eager for a meal of fresh spawn. You can catch these same fish until the end of march when the waters start to warm up and they move back mainly to shorelines and shallow water. Spring fishing in this area is some of the best and most fun in the state. As soon as ice is out, the fish are in shallow water and full of life! It seems to be a short season for them though as the best of the fishing is only about 3 weeks long and then the fish tend to head out and north for deeper water and more baitfish. Through the summer you may find a few nice fish out in deep water with kings usually in the top 50' and some nice steelies up on top chasing bugs! What ever season is your favorite, Lexington (your first resort north) usually has something willing to give you a run for your money.
Keep your tip up and your bait wet! Good Luck!!
Mike
