Here is the response I received back. If you have not wrote in yet please do.
Dear Brandon,
Thank you for contacting my office in regards to HB 5029, the dove
hunting bill. Aside from the fact that I support this issue, I have
received an overwhelming amount of support from my district to pass this
bill. I intend to support HB 5029 and appreciate the correspondence
from district 47.
Thanks again,
Sincerely,
Joe Hune
State Representative

Thats a good idea! Keep posting what each district rep. has to say about the up-coming vote on the dove bill. If a rep is un-decided, then perhaps by posting it others that live in that district could contact that rep and perhaps get them to vote for it.
Don't let this chance slip by!

Great Post! We all thank you for taking action. I e mailed my rep and senator along with a couple others that I know. I have not heard anything back yet.
I am sure the anti's will get organized in a big way. All the "pro" feedback our congressmen hear from the sportsmen and women is crucial to get this thing passed once and for all!
Let's keep the pressure on them!

I wrote letters to both my Senate and House representatives and as usual got no response.

Steve, did you e-mail or snail mail your Senator and Representative? I know a lot of them receive tons of e-mail from outside their districts, thus making the e-mail thing almost useless for expressing your opinions. I would recommend a handwritten letter or a phone call.

Perhaps someone could post a link for people to easily find their reps and senators.
Even post in a couple of different forums? I realize some folks get tired of seeing this topic, but as many of you know, this is the big chance at getting a dove season and I feel its worth posting the heck out of it.
Man I can taste those bacon wrapped roasted doves already

I contacted Rep. Randy Richardville about introducing house bill 4599 which would open up Sunday hunting with firearms in Lenawee, Hillsdale and a couple other closed counties (sorry can't remember which ones right now) Even though he is not my district rep. I just wanted to give him an "atta boy" for taking that step.
We as sportsmen need to let our legislators know when they are on the right track and give them some feedback.
I did contact him via e-mail and had a response from his staff within 6 hours. I was impressed.

I just heard back from my rep. Here is his positive reply. . .
Thank you for contacting my office regarding HB 5029. I appreciate you
taking the time to share your thoughts with me.
Currently this bill is in the House Committee on Conservation and
Outdoor Recreation. If the bill reaches the full House, I will cast my
vote in support of the measure.
I join with Sportsmen all over the state of Michigan that have been
asking for the opportunity to pursue the nation's most popular gamebird,
mourning doves.
Again, thank you for your email. If I can be of future service, please
do not hesitate to contact me.
p.s. Thanks for the hunting invite! Unfortunately I will be out of
town.

Neal,
I have to fess up . . . I landed a good opening day draw in Indiana for doves. I offered my representatives the opportunity to witness it first hand. It's probably a good thing, the other guy I offered my partner spot to, contingent on my reps saying no, wouldn't have been too happy if he had to stay home.
