lake erie question

went perch fishing with my brother-in-law on lake erie. i mentioned that i heard the perch were hitting around sputnik and he agreed to run to sputnik. the problem is he ran south out of bolles harbor to a green and white buoy not far from the toledo light and insisted this was sputnik. the whole way i told him i thought this was mcdonalds buoy and that sputnik was north out of bolles out from the stoney point area and is red and white. didn't matter much as we did pretty good on the perch although they were on the smaller size 7-9". can you lake erie veterans help straighten us out? thanks in advance.

the sputnik is north of bolles harbor about 4 or 5 miles out from the stoney point area.

not sure what the marker in the turtle island is referred to....maybe another member can give that info.

i fished near the detroit light on sat. the 16th for 6 hours.......... only 7 perch and alot of sheepshead. maybe a little early yet.
