Okay, My dad's coming up from Indiana this weekend and we're going walleye fishing Fri, Sat, and Sun.. I was planning to head over to Saginaw, but have read that it really been suckin' over there recently. Anyone got any other suggestions??? I really want to avoid St.Clair and Erie. With the heat forecasted for this weekend, I imagine it'll be a madhouse of cruisers. I've got a 20' walleye boat, so big water is no problem. I was thinking of Black Lake or Leleenau. Any suggestions on the UP??? I was actually entertaining the idea of going all the way over to LBDN, but haven't gotten any warm and fuzzies from the guys up there either. I'm not looking for anyone's honey hole, just some suggestions
Thanks

I wouldn't give up on the bay because of a few bad reports. If you drag enough lines you'll get something, at least you can reel in junk fish while waiting for the eyes. I've heard the Callahan reef bite might be picking up. They will bite sometime....sounds like lately that marking fish isn't the problem, its getting them to bite. Thats better than a total lack of fish, and the lockjaw will end someday.
You could also fish Pt. Huron but thats basically a night bite and there's just as much of a crowd as the other places you mentioned.

I would go for Erie out of Sterling or Bolles Harbor. The big water has lots of space, even if there is a tuna fleet you can drift with everyone else and go with the flow. I have been on Erie and seens literally hundreds of boats, but you're all drifting and on the good days everyone is catching fish.

gregm,
come and join us on hubbard lake this weekend. the talk right now is not if you will limit out, but how fast can you do it. last night was another great evening bite on hubbard. my neibor took his son out last night and with only two rods out they landed 5 and lost seven. we are getting some really nice fish and you wont find a better eating walleye. feel free to pm or call me and i will give you some numbers for a play to stay.

I'd agree with one of the above posts, Sterling or Bolles. Right of Stoney Pt in 21 fow amongst the weeds.
