I'm interested to know what the membership numbers are. I know that it say's 500 members in 1997. Is MTB growing? I always find it curious as why poeple spend lot's of money getting into a sport but never find the small amuont of money to support an organization that help's protect something they claim they love. Also are any of the founding council members still involved with the MTB? Does anybody have any ideas as how to get peope to join an orgaization? I know in some states that membership's are strong while others it's not even though that state may have more hunters. do you think its because of politics or, or because there's not enough in it to begained for me feeling that poeple have now day's? Let's here your take on it.

Two years after MTB was born, a structured leadership was created. Today two people from the original Board Of Directors are still on the board. Darryl Quidort and Gary Archer. Our membership is somewhere between 500 and 600 members. It grew to 500 fast and then leveled off. We are the Largest state Traditional Bowhunting group.
Yea I wish more bow hunters would join bowhunting organizations. One thing to remember is that there are many different sportsman groups in Michigan, and people tend to get spread out more. I currently belong to MTB, MBH, NRA, CBM, NWTF.
MBH is the largest bow hunting organization in Michigan and has 5 to 6 thousand members, this sounds like a lot, but still only represents less than 1% of the bowhunters in this state.
There are many reasons to join Bowhunting organizations. Hunters will be informed of wildlife & political issues through magazines flyers ect. The larger the membership gets the more political clout the organization will have. MTB members are asked to share their stories and photos so we can put them in our magazine. MTB also has the Jamboree weekend in Grayling, a banquet in Grand Rapids and a rabbit shoot where members can have a great time.
A one year membership costs $15 dollars. How can you go wrong? I am not aware of any other organizations with one year memberships that cheap. MTB is a non-profit club of Traditional Archers whos main interests is bowhunting.

Hello Bhntr, A few of us are tying to go rabbit hunting with our bows, Saturday March 10.
I read your response on another thread, you said you had a beagle and a few friends that you rabbit hunted with, thought maybe you guys would be interested.
Currently we have about 5 guys, but are still looking for a good place to hunt. One person has a good area but has not got back with us. Any ideas? I have a good beagle, would be great if we got a few more guys and another beagle or two.
Let Me Know
Thanks Scott Bishop
