Houghton Lake 8 - 5

Went to Houghton Lake Tuesday with my father and youngest son. Spent most of the day trolling and casting Hot- N - Tots. The action was pretty much non-stop. We caught 27 Northerns, 4 Largemouth, 4 HUGE sunfish, and 1 big Perch all on the Tots. We did drift crawler harnesses for a while, but all we did was kept losing the crawlers so we went back to trolling. We trolled the north shore from the point to the middle grounds in 8 FOW. All the pike and bass were released. We did bring home a dozen very nice gills and sunfish which are now getting adjusted to their new home in my buddies new pond.......Patch

nice job.. just wondering if you caught any walleyes, and what color hot n tots. we did pretty good in 10-13 fow using the crawfish colored hotntots caught 4 keepers and about 7 smaller ones. it seems that we are catching less walleyes and more pike. thanks

Nope no walleyes which really surprised me. We usually pick up at least a few. We did the best with chrome/chartreuse or white/chartreuse Tots. It just seemed that the pike were everywhere!....Patch
