Traverse City Area Fishing

Hi. I'll be taking a trip to the Homestead resort outside Traverse City and am looking for any bank fishing opportunities. I'm visiting from Houston, TX (avid bass fisherman here) with my in-laws (they don't fish) and plan on bringing just a reel (my bass fishing bait caster) and picking up a rod while I am there. I'm looking for any assistance anyone can offer in finding a peaceful bank/wade fishing opportunity with at least an avg. chance of catching fish. I'll be there this Tuesday thru Friday and am looking for something very close to the Homestead because I may or may not have access to a car. Thanks in advance. Might consider an affordable guide trip as well.

There is a stream that runs right thru the Homestead, lots of trout in the fall. You will be located right on Lake Michigan, not sure how you would do this time of year from shore. Check the office out, I know in the past they have had access to some guides, whether it is for stream fishing or out on the big lake on a charter.

May want to cast lures on the pier heads as well. I'm sure the Salmon are getting ready to come in. I know the other side of the state is starting with the right weather conditions.
