Nailed the eyes pretty good today (Sun). About 1.5 - 2 miles East-NorthEast of the Hole. PA's w/harnesses, then my own harnesses. Seemed to like "flash" today, came up for it when you found them. Ended up bringing home five, smallest 22", biggest a nice, fat 27". Overcast all day, a few sprinkles to contend with, no big deal though, water very calm, mild ripples. Beauty !

Those look like the exact same lures I was using Wednesday when we did well just about where you were. Te Pas and the same harness.

I better not show my son this. He buggd me all day to return out there. I told him with the weather forcast we better stay home.

Glad to know the same routine is working.

Kingfisher 11, thought you may be out there and called a couple times on the vhf, no answer obviously.

The PA in the picture started out a darker green w/dots color. I painted the upper portion yellow (you can still see some green color just under the edge of the yellow that I left), and tied up a harness using some components I had left laying around. I really took off this year on tying up my own harnesses after finally having enough of the high priced crap out there for sale. Cheap components, funky line, too short, bad color, etc. I tie using 14 lb. "sensi-thin" and good quality parts. I like trying a wide variety of color combo's and have come up with some really solid performers.

Good luck out there and hopefully we'll run across one another soon.

Hey Whale, how far back you trolling the PA's? What was your best speed? Depending on the weather, I might take the family out this weekend.

Thanks in advance. Big K.

Looks like you had a great day fishin' and it's even better when you catch 'em on your own tackle. I started tieing my own spinners this year and have done some of the same things you're doing (color combos, etc.) However, I am not familiar with the PA's that you're using. Do they go by any other names? Do you fish them like regular harnesses?
Thanks for the help.

Big K - 45' back, 1.6 - 1.9 mph.

dcclubs - PA's is the only name for the base device. basically an Erie Dearie with a diving lip. I buy only the base units, found some at a local shop for only $1.79, I bought all he had, they offer a version with a harness attached for around $5.00 ! ) I'll keep with the base and put my own harness on. Suggestion; buy the base unit, cut off the hook, put a decent split ring and a swivel on it for your harness, change out for color changes. I also cut off the wire in the front usually and put a duo snap in it's place. Just had run out of them when I took the shot for my pic in my posts. Good luck everyone.
