Fished 12 to 14 FOW slightly south of 400 club during the prime fishing hours of 2pm till 7. Boxed 7 eyes, 29 perch and tossed back 4 smalllies, 2 lmb, about 20 rockies and about 20 dink perch. Had a muskie on the ultralight for a couple of minutes (grabbed a perch I was bringing in.) That was FUN!!!

Hot lure for the eyes was a GID harness with a green slash on the blade, with 2 #3 split shots crimped about 4' up. got 5 on this one. The other two came off 1/2 crawler on bare #10 longshank hooks with 1 split shot. All were caught on the drift.

About 90% of the perch came on a 1" micro tube, char. green . fished 3' above a 5/8 bell sinker on a 6" dropper. Used a long shank hook with no jighead on it and rigged it so just the tip was sticking out. They were smaking it too!!!

I also noticed that 3 of the perch had those black grubs in the fillets. Haven't seen this on LSC before.....Is this something new on the lake???

I also wasted 4$ on a doz. stupid golden minnows from pro fishing ctr. Fished them off of carolina rigs, drift rigs and prech spreaders. Had 2 hits and no fish on them. Shoulda bought some more crawlers, went through 5 doz yesterday.

Great report. I never tried the tubes before. I'll have to give them a try.

The 400 Club is south of the spillway , just north of 14 mile road.

I agree on those goldens, they never seem to do that well for me either.

Salmon those blk. dots have been with the perch for a few years . Some schools seem to have more effected fish. and others with less. ?

Those black dots cooked pose no threat.

Great report on the catch!

2 questions... What is a GID harness?...Regarding the perch tube, are you running the tube 6" off the bottom or 3' off the bottom?

GID=Glow In the Dark crawler harness....The tubes were ran about 3 feet off the bottom with a dropper line of 6" tied to the main line, simaler to a 3 way rig. Watch the graph and try to keep the jig bouncing the tops of the weeds, easier said than done!!!

The 400 area to Metro Beach has been fantastic this year, the best I've seen in a long time for Eyes. As a matter of fact they are still running strong however on the small side but great eaters.
Love those SMALL Eyes on the plate!

I don't know what you guys think, but with the crazy spring and summer that we have had, the Walleye fishing has been GREAT to date. Friends of mine have slayed them and still doing great.
