Gus and I are heading out to the Bay tonight. Any suggestions on where to fish? Anybody head out yesterday? Any success? All information is greatly appreciated.

I plan to head out there myself today. I just checked the fishing report on another site. They did well yesterday on crawler harness. Fishing with snap weights, deep. They were fishing south of Pinconning.
Report claims they caught 8 fish in 1-1/2 hours once they found them in 17-19 FOW.
I will have my radio on, Boat name is Kingfisher.

I was out there last night straight east of the AuGres river. in 30 to 40 fow. Trolled with Pa's / crawler harness, crawler harness' with snap weights, hot and tots and rapalas. Only had 1 hit (no fish), being a rookie on the bay's techniques didn't help matters. Varied speeds, went from .7 all the way to 2.2.
Marked a lot of baitfish and other big fish (over 50 large symbols). The big fish were scattered all up and down in the water column 18 to 35'. Only marked a couple on the bottom. Fished from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Next time, I think I'm going to use lighter line on my "Walleye Angler Rods", which are lined with 15# mono, for my steelhead trolling. Maybe go with 6 or 8# test.
Or maybe I'll stick with Salmon and steelhead fishing, from now on.

I would definitely head to Pinconning then because they didn't do much up to AuGres the last two days.

I have the walleye angler series planer board rods and I run 10 lb test on them and it works great. I use the trilene 10lb Big Game and I don't have any trouble with it.

We brought home three walleyes. Two were over 7# and one was 4#.
I just could not hear you very well. You must have been a bit out of my reach. I was 7.5 miles north of Hoyles.
All the fish were on my new lure I just bought. The Pa's worked the very first time trying them. We did have a few fish on hot n tots also. I had 4 Pa's and it seemd two certain colors were to there liking.
Lots of catfish to keep the kids busy.
What kind of boat do you have?

Kingfisher,
I've got a 16' Monark. We fished NW of the Spark Plug almost to the Black Hole. We picked up about 5 eyes with only 2 keepers. One 15" and another 17". Caught them on cralwer harness. Very slow night to say the least. We finished fishing in the shallows up by Bay City. Glad to hear you had some fun. I probably won't be able to get out for a couple more weeks.

I went out of Gambills Monday and Tuesday morning. Had lines in the water by 7:30 both days. Monday only had 2 releases running tots in about 19-21 foot of water on the edge of the black hole. Tuesday ended up with 5 walleyes, all between 16"-22". Picked them up by the B Buoy I think south of the black hole. Usually have the ship to shore on, my handle is The Rough Rider. Always willing to help if I can.

Sounds like a lot of small fish getting caught. No wonder those guys that plan to fish the tournament were drilling us when we showed them our fish. One guy looked at 2 of the fish around 8 lbs and said they sure would like to catch them. Never seen guys drool so much.
I just figured everyone was getting them that big. I caught both of them alomost exactly where I caught a 11 pounder through the ice.
I would right back out there today if it was not for the weather forecast.

I was running them back 90-130, at 2.2 mph, and anything with purple on it did well
