Mike, I know a couple of people who live there. The very south end of the lake is good for walleyes (south lake leelenau) and also half way up the lake from Cedar. Along the drop offs. Also in front of the RV park at the south end.(Leelenau pines rv park) If I can get more info I'll PM you.

Mike: Thanks for the report. I use to camp at Leelanau Pines before my wife decided to motel it. I always had alot of luck down by Cedar and also by the pines. Also a great place by the narrows at night. Will let you know how I do. Thanks again.

Ah, Lake Leelanau, my favorite lake in michigan. Not the best fishing, but almost no boat traffic, chrystal clear water, and beatiful scenery. Look for cabbage weed in 9-11 fow off the drops, drift with crawlers or leeches under a slip bobber, fish early or late. Good for eyes, rock bass and smallies. Later fish the weeds in 12-15 feet in the bays. Casting rattle traps and meeps is also good. Where are you staying? We went up there every year for about 13, and loved it!

Just got back last night from a 4 day trip. Fished South Leelanau at night, from Cedar and did real good close to the shorelines using harnesses tipped with nightcrawlers and minnows. Caught 5 walleye from 8:30 to 12.00 P.m The second day fished at night about the same time from Leelanau Pines Campground ,( Thanks Walleye Mike) using I call them Propeller Jigs tipped with minnows and just a splitshot rig and they were really hitting that night .
It was the best area and had a few others fishing by me also, ended up with 6 in the 15 to 23" range. Fished the narrows at night another day with know results.
The last day I fished North Leelanau out of Suttons Bay and caught 3 walleye and about 15 nice perch. All in all it was a great time and the wife even liked crusing the lake in the evening.
"Pikeslime" Stayed at Sunrise Landing in Northport pretty close to the casino and the Retreat where the Red Wings practice before the season. I been staying there for about 8 years in a row now and like being right on the bay there. Can see Gull Island from there.
Next trip is Ludington the last week in Sept. Staying at the Lands Inn of course'''.

Way to go Mike! I'm going to try to make reservations early for those campgrounds for next year. They book very quickly. Could have gotten a few days this year but didn't coinside with our days of vacation. Got to book early.

Walleye Mike: We use to stay at Little Finger Campground all the time. they renamed it "Lake Leelanau R.V Park now . It is just a ways down from the other one. It is actually 3 1/2 miles south of the village of Lake leelanau on 643 on Lake Shore Drive (643).
I launched from that area there but you have to be pretty careful because of how shallow it is there. I was comming off the lake and a guy and his wife was launching theres and told him to keep his motor up but he didn,t listen and as soon as he got turned around he hit a stump and trashed his prop. I was also inpressed with north lake Leelanau. It really has some great drop offs from shore. I launched from Suttons Bay downtown and when i got out off the channel i was in 5' and dropped off right to 45' and in some spots to 70'. Caught some nice walleye there off the dropoffs. But what a beautiful lake to fish.
Well it,s back to the pond for awhile but I love Lake Saint Clare also. A few guys from Stoney have been fishing the Saint Clare river at night and are doing quite well out of Marysville got 10 last night. Just thought I,d pass that along. Thanks again Mike.
