I tried using buckets to slow down me trolling speed. It works good. What is the preference for slowing down an I/O? A drift sock would work well from what I've read but the same is said for a trolling plate. My concern is the swim platform on the back of my Trophy getting in the way of lowering or raising a trolling plate.
Any suggestions out there?
Thanks

Try a pair of drift socks tied to the bow hook, one left and one right, run just a few feet back. This way they don't get in the way of the fishing in the back of the boat.

I use one drift sock, hooked to the bow (trailer) eye. No line, just put a hook on the loops. It's working all the time. If you wish to stop and drift a while, it's already there.

Just don't forget about it when you take off for the next spot.
