Backpacking Guides

I am considering starting my own buisness as a Backpacking Guide and I would like to do a little research. Has anyone ever hired a guide? Or does anyone know any guides that I could ask some questions to? What I am mainly wondering is, are guides certified for anything? For example Backcountry first aid. I was also wondering about insurance, is it needed?, should customers sign a waiver. I would hate to have to have a waiver, but with how sue crazy people are these days you can never be to sure.

I took a week long guided trip as part of a summer camp adventure when I was about 13. That was fun, I have no idea if the guides were licensed or anything. It was throught the pictured rocks, and included a little bit of cave exploration as well.
