I haven't heard or read anything to support this, but I was in Traverse city on 2/24 and the owner of a bait shop there, said word in the tackle industry is that Rapala will discontinue the Jigging Rapala after this year, just like the original Husky, and Fat Rap last year.
I really can't see this,as popular as they are.If its true better start to stock up! Has anyone heard anything about this, good or bad?
Maybe they have something better on the table. If not please excuse the rumor, and go back to fishing!!

I've not heard that this is in the works, however, I can not imagine that Rapala would drop this lure style. Seems to be extremely popular among us for more than just Walleyes. I for one will definitely load up on lures if this turns out to be true. People will go berserk to get the last of their favorites, hell, I'm heading to the store now just in case !!! Good Luck to all !!!

I, for one, cannot imagine ice fishing without having a few Jigging Rapalas in my tackle box. They have caught everything from crappies,to perch,to walleyes for me.Nor can I imagine them improving on this design.Recently I have become a big believer in Nilsmaster lures, but would not want to give up my Rapalas.I really believe that they compliment each other as to prey species available. Its nice to have variety to choose from,as needed. So lets keep our fingers crossed that this isn't true.
In the mean time, keep your lines tight, and harvest selectively!!
