Fished the st joe sat 2/24. Went zero for zero. Didn't see any fish caught, didn't see any fish on stringers, didn't see any fish period. Quite a few anglers out considering the weather, but everyone I talked to was having the same luck, or rather the lack of same. River is high and muddy, rose no less than two feet while I was there, and it was already high to begin with.
I believe the fish are there, but it will take some time to find them. Alot of the guys are trying to hit the same popular holes as usual. Problem is while there may be fish in them you can't reach them with out alot of weight, and then even if you do reach the hole you cant get a good drift through it cause the water is ripping so hard. Add to that the lack of water visabilty and you have the makings for a total skunk!
I'll be back in a couple days with the boat and do some searching. I think thats the best plan for getting into some steel on the st joe river!
Heading north in the morning hopefully the weather and water conditions improve!!!!
