Hey all,

Budster and I built the new underwater camera from the Lunkercam2 plans & partial kit tonight. We tested it out in and out of the water, in light and total darkess. It works great, and the picture quality is exceptional. It took about 3 hours to build this one, but a second one would definitely be done in under 2 hours. It was a lot of fun to build, and the results are great! The total cost was right at $120 plus monitor. If anyone is in the area and interested, either one of us would be very happy to help put one together.

There was one extra capacitor in the kit which was causing a short to ground, but once we figured that out, it was clear sailing. Everything else was perfect. The directions were very clear and easy to follow.

Here are some pictures of the finished camera. Let me know if you have any questions. We'll be testing it out on the lake tomorrow if the weather cooperates.

Best Regards,
Byron

Byron,

I was just telling my wife we really need to get one. I just started to look into them. Thanks for the info maybe when we get one you and Budster can help us put it together. Looking forward to hearing how your test run goes.:)

Hey all,

If Budster and I were to build more of these cameras, would any of you be interested in buying one? Just want to get a feel for the interest level before deciding to build more. They would definitely be less expensive than buying a commercial unit. Let us know!

Best Regards,
Byron

I don't suppose you could post pics of actual fishing footage. I am interested in seeing this kit, but really dont want to blow $300-700 on a cam system. If you ever get down to stoney creek, email me if you wouldn't mind demoing it for me.
Thanks,
Joe

Budster and I are talking about a camera demo outing at Stony creek this weekend. If you would like to come out and see how the LunkerCam2 we built works, let us know when is the best time for us to meet out there. I'm thinking the middle lake would be best, as it sounds like it has the best ice and the most fish concentration. We will definitely make more cameras to sell if there is interest. We may even have one for sale that day. See you guys out there!

Byron
