Tubjig we power drift anywere from Marsville ramp to the power lines that cross the river south of Saint Clair.. I had fish right out side the pine river for awhile where I keep my boat and that was nice not far to go.. I find the fish and stay on them.. I try to judge how high the sun is to how deep I fish.. Power driftng is when you use a electric motor to incress your speed going down stream.. You guys with smaller boats can call it back trolling.. The whole concept is to keep up with the actual current of the river because unless you have a good north wind the river is moving quicker than you are driftng on top that is why you see guys throw out drift socks when fishing the river.. I dont like drift socks but it does help.. I have a bigger boat and it catches a lot of wind so when there is a strong south wind and I am not useing the electric motor I might as well be vertical jigging.. I am going to start chugging when there is a strong south wind..
When you power drift it helps keep off gobies as well because I still get my fair share of them bait stealing fish.. Well good luck to you all.. Cya On the water Slick

Well went out monday morning between the storms and it was pretty tough only caught 2 fish and lost 1.. I think this crazy weather had something to do with it.. The barometric pressure is reel low right now it sounds like a good excuse to me LOL.. Cya Slick

I beleive they are the same. I do this in the chanels on St. Clair, just get the boat going a touch faster than the current. Just enough to turn the blad over on the harness. Your line should be at about 45 degrees. Always test the speed before you drop your rig down. too fast and no fish, too slow and you will tangled = no fish.
Question- I hear people that use the gobies as bait, anyone here ever try it?
My self I just kill em and throw em back. The gulls seem to get them most every time.

Hello IT PIMP you pretty much have it down pat but speed does not kill when it comes to fishing..Speed can help keep off the gobies and still catch walleye..
1life yes I do fish both power lines north and south.. I think you are reffering to River Crab and yes that is a good spot to fish and both power Edison plants are good as well.. Here is another good place to fish any place a freighter parks to unload there cargo because there props dig holes in the bottom because the water levels are low.. Well good luck to ya.. Cya Brent

Hello everyone Dad and I went out this morning walleye fishing for about three hours and managed to get 6 we should of had 10 but for some reason the fish were not hooking up well, I lost three and dad lost one.. We would get them half way to the boat and then they would be gone, little frustrating..
The hot colors were the same as yesterday.. There wont be any more reports until sunday when I go fishing next.. Good luck to you all. Cya Slick
