How much longer does the rabbit season go on for? Or has it stoped already? And how many rabbits are you allowed to take in a day/season?
Getting things all cleared up so I don't get into trouble when I go out.

Time to get those reels back in the water, and catch some BIG fish!

Shooter,
Season goes on through March 31st, and you can take 5 per day. This info is easily available in the hunting & trapping guide or on the michigandnr.com website.
Best Regards,
Byron

Page 28 in the Hunting Digest. Rabbit season is on untill March 31. You can take 5 rabbits per day and have a total of 10 in possession. There is no season limit providing you never have more then 10 at any one time. Good luck shooter.

Please explain "10 in possession". Does possession count whats in the freezer? Or ones that are not yet processed.

Possession is all rabbits you have in possession. Processed is not part of the equation. If you have 4 when checked out hunting and have 10 at home in the freezer from other hunting trips, you still possess them. Now if you and you wife both had small game licenses then you both are each entitled to 10 each or, you could have a total of 20 in the freezer. Once you eat some of them in the freezer, then they are gone and you don't possess them anymore.
Now, the CO is not going to come to your house and ask you how many rabbits, whatever, you have in the freezer. But for the poacher who is involved in commercialization of selling deer or rabbits, or whatever, and after investigation and the issuance of a search warrant, the CO finds 50 rabbits in the freezer, that person will be charged, among other things, for over possession limit of rabbits.
This is the same way as with fish. In the freezer counts as part of your possession.
Hope that answers your question and explains why.

I've always wondered what the possesion part meant. I guess I'll have to eat some of the 'Gills in my freezer before going out again. One question to go along with this though. What happens if you are coming back from Canada, where there are no possession limits, and you have several hundred panfish?

If you have a Canandian Fishing License and you bring back fish legally taken in Canada, obeying their laws, you are alright.
You have to realize something here though, I'm sure nobody on this site, or I hope not, is a game or fish hog. I would also suspect everyone is very much against poaching with intent on poaching. I would even more strongly believe that everybody has a problem with the selling of fish and game. I doubt you have much to worry about.

I posted that possession question because I know a lot of guys would be wondering that same thing. I wish I was that good to get up to the possession limit.

Hey thanks guys! I didn't have a guide book or esle I would have just looked it up.
W.M. thats a good question you asked there, I was going to ask it my self. You said "you know a lot of guys that would be wondering the same thing" your exactly right. I know when ever I see that in the Hunting/Trapping Guide I ask and nobody really knows the answer. (some do, most don't)
