I know it is illegal to ride atv's in this area, but is there an exception for unloading your atv at the boat ramp and using it for ice fishing on a lake in this area.

As far as i know you can ride on the county roads but not the 2 tracks.I hunt up there alot and have talk to the DNR about it.
They told me county roads yes 2 tracks no.

Hi Bullitslinger.. I guide elk hunters in the pigeon every year and have been told by the dnr that as long as the two track isn't posted to no rideing then you can ride there ,at least in the wolverine area you can because i do it and have talked to the dnr during season and before and after season. They told me as long as you don't go off the trail its ok and no traveling at high rates of speed. Just don't tear anything up and you should be all right,thats what they don't like. I know alot of the officers and there pretty cool as long as you follow the law. just my two cents../....bye carl

Elk Guide,
Last year at turkey camp we camped in the Pigeon.The camp was just off a county road and we were using our qwads on 2 tracks and county rds.A DNR officer stop at our camp and told us to stay off the 2 tracks with the bikes. So whats the law and what are the county ordinances say?
