Boehr,

I was just wondering if you had any inside info about the possibility of the mechanical duck decoys (Robo-duck) being outlawed in the near future; maybe next year. I figured that it is going to happen soon with their popularity and with how well they work. I was talking with a CO at Shiawassee this fall and he seemed to think that it would not be long before they were axed.
Any info, thoughts, or opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks alot

I have not heard any rumor but I also suspect that the robo-duck will be illegal in the near future. That's just a personal guess though. I haven't seen one but I have also heard they do work great.

Boehr;
I have a few motion decoys: I have one of the "shaker butt" decoys that puts out ripples in the water, and this past Christmas, my wife and daughter got me a "wonderduck" decoy--the kind that kicks in the water and splashes with its wings. Where to you think that they will draw the line? Is it just the spinning wing decoys, our will it be something like my wonderduck? What about decoys that "swim", or my "shaker butt"? Just curious as to what your thoughts might be. Thanks

It might be a better question for the Feds. I would suspect that the state will not do anything until the Feds do. As far as the other types, wonder duck etc., it's really hard to say. I'm not real familar with the other types and would hate to see someone buy or not buy one based on my opinion. Maybe the best thing is to e-mail Lt. Alan Marble in Bay City. He does go to conferences with the Feds and may have some better insight. His e-mail address is:
