A person has a combo license, hunter orange, a legal weapon, and it's Nov.15 in Michigan. This man climbs a clearly posted fence without permission and hunts and kills a legal sized buck. This man has followed all Michigan laws except the fact that he knowingly trespasses.
I have many names for this person of which none are good.   Can you tell me if this man is a poacher by law? Can he be ticketed for illegal shooting of the whitetail?

Thanks

Airoh

He is a poacher. He is not charge for illegal killing of a deer but the deer would be seized and besides the fines and court cost for trespassing he can be ordered to pay $1000 for the deer and doesn't get the deer.

Most dictionaries define a poacher as a trespasser.
