Greetings Boehr, How would I go about finding out how to get a permit for my wife to hunt from a motor vehicle. She has very severe arthritis in her knee. She has a handicapped parking permit and is on doctor restrictions to be on her feet no more than 2 hours a day. She has trouble walking more than 50 feet at a time and there is no way she would be able to get up after setting under a tree all morning. I understand the engine would have to be turned off while she hunted. I am lucky enough to have permission to hunt 3 farms with woods that have many 2 tracks for cutting firewood etc. Any info on this i could get would be greatly appreciated. She loves to deer hunt and has not been able to for the last 2 years.

Unfortunately from the information you posted she would not qualify for a permit to hunt from a standing vehicle.

The law states: The department may issue a permit to a person who is unable to walk due to being a paraplegic or an amputee, or being permanently disabled and unable to walk because of other disease or injury.

This does not prohibit you wife from using the car to drive to where ever she was going to hunt sitting in the car and sitting outside the car but unless she can not walk at all, can't be issued a permit.

An application for qualified applicants can be obtained through the mail or in person from any District Office. After filling out the application a officer will contact the applicant and complete an investigation for qualification under the law and a permit is either issued or denial letter sent to the applicant. The denial letter states why the application is denied using the provisions of the law stated above.
