There is no restriction on the type of arrow tips you use on you arrows as long as we are not talking about poison or chemicals. So to answer your question yes, you can for rabbits and woodchucks. Hope you have a lot of money to spend on arrows to replace bent ones :)

You may be in violation if you carry a bow in a turkey hunting area (more and more area's every year )during the turkey season and you don't have a turkey permit. Maybe Boehr could elaborate if there is a problem during turkey season. If you wanted to hunt woodchucks during the turkey season it may be a problem then. ??

It use to be that you could not be in a turkey area with a bow or firearm without a turkey license. However, that law changed a few years ago. As long as your not hunting turkeys and have the appropriate license for whatever you are hunting, small game, etc., you are ok. I would caution you that you may tick off a turkey hunter if you mess up his/her hunt though.

Moe, Forget using broadheads to hunt rabbits or woodchucks. You'll lose arrows and or ruin broadheads (expensive). Have you ever heard of Judo tips? Originally designed by Zwickey they are available for screw in or swagged tips. They pack alot of punch for small game and utilize a unique spring with an "outrigger" system to make it virtually impossible to lose your arrows in grass, weeds, etc. Give them a try!

For rabbits those may be fine but if a big ole woodchuck gets one of those things he'll just toss it back at ya. I think there are models that can be used behind a broadhead so you can get the best of both worlds. I suggest that you use a broadhead for a fast kill.

Stinger, You may be right on the woodchucks. I have never arrowed one. There is another tip called a Magnus Blunt that uses a combo blunt and 4 small bleeder razors. It packs the shocking power of a blunt, like the Judo, but has the bleeder blades too. Still easy to lose buried in the grass. You could probably make a wire catcher to put behind your tip. I've never tried it though. Judos WILL knock a rabbit flat as well as most other small game. It's the shocking power that does it.

thanks for the advice everyone! i was thinking about judos for rabbits but don't have any right now so i gotta get some. for woodchucks i have some Patriot 2 blade broadheads and then i'm going to use what i believe they call a muzzy grasshopper behind it so that i might not get the passthrough. last year i tried to use field points for woodchucks and did shoot one but he went down the hole after he was hit so i want some stopping power for em this year.
thanks again
Moe
