Boehr, I spotted a buck during the last week of December that had already shed. I posted a question asking if anyone else had seen one also. The question came up with regards to the late doe season and what would happen, if anything, with a "shed" buck being taken after it had been mistaken for a doe?

It is not a 'doe' season, it is an 'antlerless' deer season. Michigan law defines 'antlerless' as any deer having antlers extending less than 3" from the skull.
Therefore, as it is legal to shoot button bucks during the antlerless season, it would likewise be lawful to shoot a buck that had recently shed.
Consequently, if you knew there was a doe with, say, a 6 pt. rack and you shot her, this would be a violation.
(How'd I do, boehr?)
