Kent lake, crawler harness on the bottom by the river channel. Cast them toward shore as the sun goes down.

thanks, I will have to try kent lake. I know it is one of the most fished lakes in the area. I work afternoons so I would be fishing as the sun comes up.;)

Sounds like Kent lake for sure then. Portage lake launch doesn't open until 8. Kind of stinks. You can get on Kent early though. I don't know the specific time but I am pretty sure that I have launched by 6:30 there. I bet it opens at 6.

I have been trying to think of other spots for you, but Portage is the main one that I could think of. I had even forgotten Kent. There are other lakes out there with small populations, but those two are probably your best bet.

I believe that the Portage chain of lakes has been stocked with walleye. It's been many years since I've been there, but we did catch decent numbers there in the past.

Lake Tyrone has walleye, though it is a private lake. Handy lake also has a stocking of eyes, it is private, but there is a boat launch with no gates and trespassing signs. I have been fishing there for many years with no complaints.
