A buddy of mine would go somewhere over by Bay City in the water outlets of a power plant. He never kept them, but said he always had a hoot. He could never get a second pole in the water.

Find bait fish and fish those areas at dusk to dark thirty.
River holes, creek mouth and areas close to any current will produce cats.
I would think any river dumping into the lakes would be a good spot.

lower grand around allendale is good. k-zoo and st. joe has cats too
I see you are in Grand Blanc. Halloway Resivour and Mott Lake have very good populations of Channel Cats.

Funny thing I just saw a guy catch one today out on lake Saint Clair. Man did that thing put up a fight.
Look at the DNR's report on LSC, the Anchor Bay netting site produced large numbers of something like a 26" average fish, They are big time predators, I catch them fairly frequently on Muskie and Pike baits run in the upper 1/3 of the water column.

I don't intend this to be glib, but go back to Saginaw Bay and fish for walleye, rather than cats. You'll catch as many, or more, cats than walleye. We fished the Charity area on Saturday and took a limit of eater walleye, and easily took 10-15 big cats as well - up to 10 pounds in size. Crawlers/cranks, doesn't matter, those cats out there will smack anything and, oh man what a fight.

Bolles Harbor the channel cats are biting. No monsters but they are there. Use crawlers at sunset.

Tom is not lying!! Go back to Saginaw Bay and go out of the mouth of the river. Soon as you get past Consumers property, and if your boat is small enough, head between the man made island and shore. Start trolling in 5/6 ft of water with crawlers and you will catch catfish.
