YPSIFLY's recent post reminded me of something I meant to post the other day. Me and a friend were launching at Bankson Lake last Friday, and we noticed something white floating in the water near shore. Thinking it may be a big musky belly up, we inspected a little bit closer. As we approached, one of the homeowners there yelled out to us "Is that another goose?" As we got close enough to get a good look at it, sure enough, it was a goose. We replied to him that it was and he said "Yea, theres a turtle that grabs them by the neck, pulls their heads under water until they drown, and then drags them off across the lake." Pretty wild!
Once we got the boat launched we went in for a closer look, and while I doubt this little turtle was the one responsible, he was enjoying quite a feast:
